Kunstwerk Amersfoort
For an open call by the Municipality of Amersfoort, we designed an artwork for the bicycle parking area at Amersfoort Schothorst station. Because the structure is low and surrounded by tall buildings, we decided to build upwards.
With a nod to Antony Gormley, we created three male sculptures composed of steel skeletons and “flesh” made from wooden blocks. The wooden elements were crafted from recycled mooring posts sourced from the Amersfoort region.
The composition represents a timeline in which a person overcomes an obstacle.
